Nancy In Hell On Earth El Torres Enrique Lorenzana Books

Nancy in Hell is so ridiculous and over the top that it should probably get some sort of award. A comic so awesome in its badness that you can't help but enjoy it for what it is. What happens when an ultra-buxom cheerleader winds up in Hell? Well, that's the story of our heroine Nancy, who finds herself trapped in Hell and trying to escape the horde of demonic forces and undead out to make her into mincemeat. Nancy also finds herself with a very unlikely ally, and the two seek to escape the confines of the underworld in one big bloody blast. Written by El Torres, Nancy in Hell is enjoyable for what it is and nothing more, nothing less. It's a fun ride while it lasts, and the surprising twist and conclusion will leave you genuinely surprised. The artwork by Juan Jose Ryp (Black Summer, Frank Miller's RoboCop) in the first two issues here is stunning, but the final two issues feature artwork by Antonio Vasquez, which while good, just doesn't match up to Ryp's incredible renderings. All that aside, Nancy in Hell is a blast, and is well worth your time and attention.

Nancy In Hell On Earth El Torres Enrique Lorenzana Books Reviews

Absolutely incredible! Very fun comic with great, incredibly creative art! Great if you like mature comics!
It looks at feels like an exploitation horror movie. A hot chick with a chainsaw having to escape hell. But when you read it you'll find that it actually has a smart story and very clever ideas. I was engrossed with every page and every word. It accomplishes being more engrossing that you could imagine. Add in the blood and over the top violence and end with a huge twist and this book is one fantasticly fun and underappricated title.
If you're like me, you might have come across Nancy in Hell (On Earth) without having read the previous volume. I was initially a little antsy about that, as sometimes you can pick up a second volume or a continuation and be incredibly lost as far as story goes. Not so with NiHOE, which ultimately works to its advantage. Newbies like me can get into the read without worrying about missing out on much.

As far as story-lines go, this is pretty strong when you consider what this ultimately is a graphic novel love song to the B-movie horror genre. This isn't meant to be a Walking Dead type read where it takes itself seriously or even a Crossed type read that tries to comment on various issues or themes. No, this series is here for the entertainment value. After all, the B-movie genre itself is pretty much just here to entertain, so why mess it up by trying to be anything other than what it is?

Character-wise, the development here is decent. We're given just enough for the characters to be interesting. The pacing of the book doesn't allow for a lot of backstory and exposition about the characters and luckily we don't really have pages of people mentioning tortured pasts or whatnot. It is what it is and while some of the characters here aren't very deep, they don't really have to be to serve their purposes. Now as far as art goes, I hope you like the female anatomy, because you get tons of bare chests and splash images of women in various poses. It's cheesecake and sometimes done purely for cheesecake's sake, but again- this is in keeping with the general tone and idea of the book. B-movie love song, after all.

I have to admit that I'm curious to read the previous volume and I can't wait to read the next volume in the series. This book leaves off with a cliffhanger ending (slight spoiler) and I'm definitely not regretting purchasing this from my local comic book store.
The art would carry this book through the just-okay story, but the artist change at the halfway point prevents even that.
my fav! & i'm hardcore marvel fan.can't wait 2 get the rest(4 comics)which innt in collected in novel
The art if great! The story is fantastic!! Made me an El Torres fan!! If you love the occult, then buy the "hell" out of this!! It makes you think of what afterlife may actually await us.
Loses a full star for the second half of the last issue.(the last 5 pages of issue 4). I assume El Torres either ran out of ideas, out of time, or the editor did something. Because this has the WORST ending!! A 12 year old could have closed this book out better. But it is amazing up until then!
